Bros, Friends, Family and Associates,

This is a reminder about our on-going school supply drive. As we all know, a lot students and teachers do not have the supplies to do an adequate job, so we are trying to help out. There are two schools being sponsored this year. (If we get an excessive amount of supplies, we might be able to add a third school)

We are still looking for donations. To those of you who have already given, we want to take a moment and say thank you for your gift. It will go a long way to helping some youth realize a good education. I have started this year’s drive off by purchasing:

  • 106 1-subject composition books
  • 100 2-pocket/3-prong folders
  • 10 3-pack index cards (each brick contains 300 cards = 3000 cards total)
  • 30 plastic pencil/supply boxes
  • 20 10-pack pencils (200 pencils total)
  • 10 22-pack Ink pens (220 pens total)
  • 20 12-pk colored pencils
  • 26 loose leaf paper (150ct packs)
  • 10 40-cnt pencil top erasers (400 erasers total)
  • 50 24-cnt boxes of crayons

There are a number of ways Brothers, friends and associates can donate supplies:

  1. Purchase supplies at their local retailer and bring them to the Chapter retreat on August 21.
  2. If you do not feel like shopping but would like to make a monetary donation, you can contact me and I will arrange to meet with you to get it. We will record the donation and use it when we go shopping for more supplies over the next few weeks.
  3. If you want to order supplies online via credit card, you can. Just order them from an office supply store or other store (i.e. Staples.com, OfficeMax.com, Samsclub.com, etc). You can have them shipped directly to JI’s house (3 Sassafras Drive, Sicklerville, NJ 08081). Just send me an e-mail to let me know that it is coming. Also send me the tracking num/invoice num so that I can track the shipment.
  4. If you have connections with a store and can get them to donate items, please coordinate it with JI (Event Chair), Ryan McLeod (President-elect) or Taiwan Short (Dir of Ed)

Below is the list of items needed.
PRIORITY NEED:

  • Loose leaf paper (wide rule preferred, but will accept college rule)
  • Composition notebooks (wide rule preferred, but will accept college rule)
  • Regular #2 pencils
  • Pens
  • Erasers
  • Pencil Sharpeners
  • 3-ring binders
  • Book Bags

MEDIUM NEED:
  • Scissors
  • Elmer's Glue and paste
  • Drawing paper
  • Markers
  • Colored pencils
  • Crayons
  • Index cards
  • Highlighters
  • Rulers
  • Supply Boxes

THE WISHLIST:
  • Intermediate level dictionaries and thesaurus
  • Calculators, preferably scientific calculators
  • Post-it flip/tear-off charts
  • Laptops
  • Thumb-drives/USB drives

Each year, we hope to grow this campaign so that we can give to many more classes and students. Education is a key factor in the success and growth of our people and communities. Alpha should always strive to be a driving force in that. “Go-To-High-School, Go-To-College” is as essential today as it was in our past. So when you get those circulars from Wal-mart, K-mart, Target, Sam’s Club, BJ’s,…., etc., take a moment and jump on some of those school supply sales. Buy a lil something for our school supply drive and help the next generation of youth move onward and upward toward the light.

If you have questions, comments or concerns, feel free to contact me at jirvin06@nemesispromotions.com or 609.636.4378.

With regards,

Bro. James “JI” Irvin
